The Resort at Pelican Hill

I was invited to a quick weekend in Newport Beach courtesy of The Resort at Pelican Hill and United Airlines. It started rather ironic when my flight on United out of Boise was cancelled. It was already going to be a really short weekend with not much free time and it got several hours shorter. I made it down after our dinner at Andrea, the signature Italian restaurant. They are probably best known for having all the pasta made at the restaurant fresh and their tableside risotto. I have had the pleasure of enjoying the tableside risotta twice – one in Las Vegas when the head chef flew up for a special lunch at Virtuoso Travel Week and then at Andrea. It is really amazing and a culinary delight. I highly recommend ordering it. The whole meal we had was exquisite. We even got to tour the pasta room where all the pasta making magic happens. It is all made by one person!

I stayed in a 3 bedroom villa with two other advisors. I love these villa’s for families, a small group, or a family with a nanny or security detail. The configuration is a king bed with a bathroom across the hallway, a king bedroom with bathroom in room, and a two queen bedroom with bathroom in room. I was in the room with two queens.

The villa features a full kitchen, living room with fire place, and an outdoor patio with views of the golf course.

We had lovely, personalized gift baskets in our room with our favorite things in them. I have worked with the property for several guest stays and have done some fun, personal amenities for guests.

The property has a well-known golf course. Unfortunately, except for the first morning, which I chose to sleep in and relax, the rest of my stay was raining. I wasn’t able to take any pictures of it. I did have coffee at the Pelican Grille and did a quick tour of the lesser known of the two round pools featured on the property. The outside area is beautiful and I can see why on a sunny afternoon no one wants to leave.

We had much planned for our short time at the property, but the rooms, the dining, the spa – it was all quite fantastic. And, I had a great massage in the spa. I look forward to visiting again, but taking my family and spending time on the property relaxing.

The Resort at Pelican Hill is a Virtuoso property and through our partnership, I am proud to offer the following amenities: upgrade on arrival, subject to availability; $50 USD breakfast daily for Bungalow guests or $100 for Villa guests; a $100 spa or golf credit; and early check in/late check out, based on availability.
