The last property I visited on my trip round the World was the Egerton House Hotel in Knightsbridge.  By far, this was the property that had me the most curious as it isn’t like traditional hotels.  It it located in a residential area, just down the street from the Bulgari Hotel Residences London, one block off the main road and very close to Harrods.  The property belongs to the Red Carnation family and really feels more like a home, not a hotel.  Originally two townhouses now joined together, this Victorian property dates back to 1843 and gives the sense of life as a Londoner, not a tourist.

This small property has just 28 rooms and 4 different room categories: a classic double, deluxe king, deluxe queen, and suite.  Really there are 27 rooms only as one room is taken a full time resident.  I was able to see three of the room types. My tour started with the classic double:

Next up is the Deluxe Queen.  One great feature it had was the views out the window.  It really did feel like you were in the middle of London, not one block off a main road!

Last up is the Victorian Suite.

A couple things about this property not yet, but worth mentioning: tea and martinis!! The Egerton House is a great place to go for afternoon tea.  I did and LOVED it!

The property is also home to a famous barman, Antonio, who makes a killer martini.  As he says, “remember, two is not enough, but three is too many.”

As this is a Virtuoso property, I am proud to offer the following amenities: Upgrade upon arrival, subject to availability; Full English breakfast, for up to two in room guests; a pair of Victoria and Albert Museum tickets, Afternoon tea for 2; and martini making lessons with Antonio complete with 2 dry martinis.
