Park Hyatt Sydney

The Park Hyatt is an aspirational property for many.  It sits directly across the water from the opera house and under the bridge. The property is everything you would expect from a Park Hyatt.  They closed in 2011 and did a complete renovation.  They stripped the property to the studs and redesigned it to feel like a residence.  Guests check in at the Living room.  The restaurant is the Dining Room.

The Park Hyatt Sydney is 4 stories with 155 rooms total.  There are 11 suites totals of 6 different categories.  I saw three different rooms – the City Harbour room (entry level room), Quay Suite (second suite level), and the Sydney Suite  – the top level.

The City Harbour room is the entry level room and is about 450 SF with a balcony. The rooms have lots of mirrors to highlight the water from all views.  The design is modern with clean lines.  The bathroom can be left open or there is a sliding partion to separate the rooms.

The Quay Suite is a lovely 1,291 SF and features 3 private balconies and 1.5 baths.   The bedroom looks nearly the same as the City Harbour View, so the pictures below are of the living space, patio, and views.

The Sydney Suite is the penthouse.  Level 4 of the property is designed with three suites total, the two bedroom Sydney Suite and two Rooftop Suites.  These can be connected to create a 4 bedroom suite.  The floor also has a private swimming pool.

The Sydney Suite features 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a full kitchen and living room, and large outdoor patio space.   This space really is special with views that just cannot be had elsewhere.  A chef can be commissioned to create private meals and the doors open up to fantastic patio space.  I can only imagine how amazing an evening cocktail party would be in this space.

It goes without saying the suite is amazing. I am not going to show a million pictures of the bedrooms, but just a few highlights. Oh and the suite has a sauna, too.

I had breakfast at the hotel and it was delicious.  I had the avocado and ricotta on sourdough toast and would order it again the next time I visit.  The restaurant has views directly of the opera house, which is rather a theme of the whole property.

If I had to make a complaint about the property is the cruise ship terminal is very close to it.  When the cruise ships doc, it would be quite busy in the area near the property.  Cruise ships are not in every day, so this isn’t too much of an issue.  This is a very loose complaint though.  The property is gorgeous and the service level is what any traveler would want and expect from a Park Hyatt.

The Park Hyatt Sydney is a Virtuoso property and through our partnership, I am proud to offer the following amenities: upgrade on arrival, subject to availability; breakfast daily for two guests in the Dining Room; a $100 USD spa credit; and early check in/late check out, based on availability.
