Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca, Morocco

My stay at the Four Seasons Casablanca is what you would expect from any luxury hotel.  They knew who I was when I walked into the door, either from the driver or from my luggage tags.  Check in was efficient and detailed.  I was paying a full price fare and was able to experience what it was like to be a Virtuoso traveler or in this case, a Preferred Partner traveler.

The hotel has 157 rooms total of which 29 are suites.  My room was a premier room with two twin beds and 47 SM or 505 SF.  I had booked it this way on purpose as I thought I was staying two nights in a row, but the rest of my itinerary changed and that wasn’t the case.  The room was plenty spacious even with two beds.  I was on the 4th floor.  The lobby, restaurants, and street level are the 5th floor.

The room featured marbled floors, light colors, and overlooked the inner courtyard.  If I had to make a criticism it would be the sink had a single vanity, which is fine for me alone. The counterspace was ample.  The amenities were VRAI brand, which is an Italian product I haven’t heard of before but was nice.  The bed was fantastic and I was able to get some good sleep, even with my jetlag.

I also saw the top room, the Royal Ocean View Suite.  This suite has impressive, 180 degree views of the ocean throughout.  The Suite is 4,220 SF or 329 SM with 3 bedrooms – a master king bed room, a two double bed room, and another king bed room.  The room has 3 full bathrooms and a powder room.  The suite is great for entertaining with a gorgeous living and dining room. The outdoor terrace has an indoor/outdoor fireplace.

The hotel has a small pool.  The service at the pool was fantastic.  They escorted me to an empty lounger, laid out the towel and offered food and beverage service.

This would be a good time to note – the Four Seasons Casablanca is a dry hotel.  They do not have a liquor license.

The beach can be accessed from the pool, although the entrance is hidden and it is best to ask.

I also visited the hamman steam room.  Holy steam, this room was hot. I love steam rooms and it was all I could do to stay in for a couple of minutes.  I do regret not getting a traditional hamman treatment.  I looked at the spa menu in my room and the price was quite reasonable and sounded awesome.  They have one for jet lag, too.  I had a couple hamman’s later in my stay though.

The gym was good with a wide range of equipment.  They have bottles of water, spa water, healthy snacks like walnuts and almonds, one class a day, and it is staffed during the day with an attendant to help with whatever you need. They do have complimentary workout clothes, including shoes, to be lent out.  I am starting to see more and more properties offer this service and I love it.

The property has two restaurants – Bleu, featuring seafood and Latitude 33, featuring authentic Moroccan.  Both have gorgeous views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and are prime sunset watching spots. I ate at Bleu and had an incredible yellowfin tuna steak.

For breakfast I could chose the traditional hotel breakfast served in Bleu (buffet or menu) or room service.  I never have enough time when I am on the road, so I prefer room service so I can eat as I am getting ready.  I had the “healthy” option, which was a banana and date smoothie, Greek egg white omelet, parfait with fruit and granola, coffee, and bread basket.  It was way more than enough to eat.  They were very prompt too – it was suppose to be delivered in 30 minutes but made it in 20.

A quick side note, the hotel was decorated with beautiful art everywhere.  These two pieces where on different floors.

I had a second trip back to the hotel and was able to see afternoon tea.  It was beautiful and elaborate.  The food we had was sooo good and I was happy to have a change from eating traditional Moroccan food.

I cannot speak highly enough about the service at the property.  Everyone I encountered was friendly, smiling, happy and eager to make my day better.  It terms of service level, it was one of the best I have ever encountered.  Everyone knew my name, they knew when I had arrived, how long I was to be in for, etc.  They did an exceptional job.

The Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca: as a Four Seasons Preferred Partner, I am proud to offer the following amenities: upgrade upon arrival, subject to availability; breakfast daily for two guests; a $100 USD equivalent food and beverage credit; and early check in/late check out, based on availability.
