The Fairmont Waterfront

The Fairmont Hotels are a Canadian owned hotel chain, which is why there are four of them (yes, FOUR) in Vancouver – Airport, Downtown, Pacific Rim and Waterfront.  I stayed at the Pacific Rim and visited the Waterfront, including enjoying a lovely breakfast.

The property is quite large and is directly across from the cruise ship terminal or formally known as the Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal.  It is the most convenient hotel for cruisers, although the Pacific Rim isn’t far away. The hotel will take guests bags from the hotel to the cruise ship.

The hotel has 489 rooms and suites total.

Signature Harbor View Corner Room was the first room category I visited. It is a king bed configuration only, 470 SF or 44 SM, and is the top category of the standard rooms.  The rooms all had single vanity and most where a bathtub/shower combination in the washroom.  The view from the room – stunning.  Even the washroom had gorgeous views.

The entry level room category is the Fairmont Room with a city view.  The room can either be a king, queen, or two doubles starting at 360 SF/33 SM.

The hotel does have a club level, Fairmont Gold with all the traditional club level offerings.

One of the Virtuoso amenities is a complimentary breakfast buffet for two per room. The buffet was incredible and did not disappoint.  They had a pastry I had never had before that also had a name too hard to remember – it was stuffed with Nutella with a crispy outside and chewy inside.  Delicious.

The first picture below is one view of the lobby.  The lobby was grand and my favorite aspect was the giant wall display of an old map of Vancouver Island.

The Fairmont properties in Vancouver are like others, which feature bee hives to produce honey to be used in house. The Waterfront is also dog friendly and has live music every night. It is a great property for cruise guests as the hotel is quite literally across the street from the terminal.  Although not my favorite of the Fairmont’s in Vancouver (coming up next), it was a fine hotel and treats guests very well.

The Fairmont Waterfront is a Virtuoso property and through our partnership, I am proud to offer the following amenities: upgrade upon arrival, subject to availability; breakfast daily for two guests; a $100 USD equivalent food and beverage credit; and early check in/late check out, based on availability.
