Ralph Lauren meets The Hamptons – that is the best description for this fabulous boutique property.
This property is stunning! St Mary’s Residence has been opened just a year. It is a private house in a prestigious residential area. As it is an actual house, not a hotel, it has 3 rooms only. There really isn’t anything of its caliber in Auckland and the property is a welcome addition for both business and leisure travelers.
With only 3 bedrooms, it is an exclusive use property. St Mary’s is privately owned and sits on a hill with sweeping views of the marina. It is like an urban cottage. The grounds are meticulous and perfect for a small wedding or other intimate party. The comment was made by others in the group, especially when we were on the rooftop terrace, you feel almost like you are in San Francisco.
In addition to the three bedrooms, which all have their own bathrooms, as you would expect, St Mary’s has a full kitchen, living room, office (including Apple TV), garage if you have a car with you, and washer/dryer. The rate includes breakfast and cocktails. The dedicated concierge service will help with dinner reservations or recommendations or any other requests such as shopping or activities. As the property is a house, it is exclusive use only, meaning reservations for one room (or two or all three) will not be sharing with any other guests.
The house itself. Notice the upper right hand corner – that is the outdoor terrace.
When guests first enter the house, immediately to the left is the first bedroom. To the right, which I am not going to show in a picture, is the office/library. One awesome feature of this room is a flat screen TV with Apple TV and other capabilities for guests to use with their own subscriptions. The office/library is the room with the big bay window seen in the picture above.
The Garden Suite bedroom connects to the outside patio and features french doors. The garden out front is a fun little area for coffee or drinks.
The garden area is quite large. Here is the view looking back towards the french doors:
A hedge row provides complete privacy to the guests.
The bathroom for the Garden Suite has a stand alone bath tub, a walk in shower with a slight step down and a single vanity.
After passing the Garden Suite, one enters the spacious living area. The house is full of windows and the space is light and airy with very comfortable seating options. The fire place would be quiet cozy on a cold winter evening for drinks.
The floor plan is open allowing guests in the living area to see directly into the kitchen.
The back yard was so fun. I can easily see a small wedding hosted or a cocktail party.
The master bedroom is upstairs. The Pacific Ocean Master Suite is three rooms – living, bedroom, and bathroom. The terrace can be accessed from the top of the staircase (pictures of it after the Suite) or from the bedroom itself.
The doors can be opened for direct access outside from the bedroom.
The bathroom features double vanities with an open counter on the wall opposite.
The bathroom was long and narrow. You passed through the vanity area and into the shower/WC room. The shower/soaking tub was slightly recessed:
The outdoor terrace on the roof really is an outstanding feature. This is part of the terrace, accessed at the top of the stairs:
The above picture is only a part of the terrace. We visited very early in the morning and I was struggling with the light. Instead of a poorly shot terrace picture, instead, I will show you the lovely view:
We had breakfast at the property and it as absolutely lovely. This was our menu:
The property does have a third bedroom, down in the lower level of the property. A few other unique features since it is a house is the property has a garage and washer/dryer facilities.
I truly cannot rave enough about this property. They do everything perfect – the service, style, food – all is completely on point. I am so excited to watch this property continue to grow in popularity.
