I struggle with the idea of making resolutions, especially when it comes to travel.  I like to be an opportunistic traveler and take advantage of things when they come up. I combine this strategy with a few planned trips.  My calendar tends to fill up quickly, so this has been a great strategy for me personally.

I do have a running list of things I would like to do/see as well as just general travel related wishes.  Here is my list for 2015:

1.  World peace.  We live on a remarkable rock, floating through space.  Imagine how amazing it would be if all people and countries played nice with each other.

2. No more poaching.  Seriously, why do people feel the need to decimate the animal population for personal pleasure.  I have no issues with hunting for meat.  I have no understanding or tolerance for unnecessary acts like killing elephants for their ivory.

3. New Zealand.  From Hobbiton, jet boats, fishing, walking, and spa mud baths, it all seems to be calling my name lately.  I am hoping it works out for me to go.

4. Oktoberfest and Wurstmarkt.  My husband and I are doing a trip without our children for the first time.  I am nervous and excited all at the same time! I am so happy to going back to Germany, one of my favorite countries.  We will visit Baden Baden, Bad Durkheim, Munich, and one other town for sure.

5. Site inspections.  I hope to be able to complete site inspections at many properties, including the Park City area, Seattle, Hong Kong, London, New York City, Las Vegas and other places I don’t yet know that I am going to visit!

6. Be the best travel advisor I can be.  I will be attending the Virtuoso Regional Meeting in Dallas, TX and Travel Week in Las Vegas for sure.  I have goals mapped out 90 days at time.  I am almost done with the training to be a specialist in New Zealand and will also complete Scandinavia and Germany.

7. I wish for everyone I know to have an amazing year in travel!

How about you?  What is on your travel wish list for the new year?

PS – This is my realistic list for 2015.  I will write up one soon my “bucket list” of adventures I want to take in the years to come.
