Kempinski Dead Sea

Floating in the Dead Sea is a once in a lifetime experience one never forgets. I had the pleasure of spending about 6 hours at the Kempinski Dead Sea and wish it had been so much more. I had a late night flight out Amman to Dubai (1 am) but was able to really make use of my time at the property.  I floated in the Dead Sea on the private beach, swam in the pool, visited the spa, and had a great private dinner.  But first, a quick look at the rooms.

Check in was in the grand lobby with a beautiful Ishtar entrance.  Guests are welcomed with a traditional Middle Eastern drink of lemon and mint. I had the drink many times on the trip and loved it.

I had a Superior room with twin beds for my short stay.  The room was quite adequate with an outstanding view of the Dead Sea.  The bathroom had a single vanity but a separate soaking tub and shower. The welcome amenity was great – more than sufficient.

My favorite part of the room was the patio. It wasn’t a huge but the view was truly outstanding.

The property has a private beach.  I had only about an hour before they closed the beach for the night to do my dip in the Sea.  Even though it was February, it was warm enough to swim.  It was a bit chilly, but once in the water, all was fine.  They have an assistant to put mud on you, part of the fun of floating in the salty water.  I cannot state how amazing this whole experience was.  My friend and I laughed and laughed.  Floating on the water is the craziest feeling.  I cannot wait take my kids and do it again.

The spa at the Kempinski Dead Sea must be mentioned. For guests who do not want to go to the beach or are not able, can float in filtered Dead Sea water in an indoor pool.  The spa is a full service spa – I had a sea salt body scrub.  After my services were complete, I was welcomed to use the full facilities and was served tea and fruit.

I had a very brief stay at the beautiful Kempinski property. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay to anyone visiting the area.
