In my first post, I talked about what it means to be a Virtuoso.  Let’s stay with this topic for just one more post and dive into what a travel advisor can do for you. (Hint, a lot more than you realize!)

1. Help with planning: Working with a travel advisor is an collaborative process.  I can provide insight and benefits to both the do-it-yourself traveler or the traveler that prefers to sit back and relax while someone else takes the reigns.  My job is to eliminate the stress so you can relax and just be excited.

2. Adding value to the trip: A misconception about what I do is working with an advisor will add cost to the trip.  Just the opposite is true! I have access to either the same rates or sometimes even better rates than if you just were to call (or look online) the hotel itself.  In addition, I can secure for you perks, such as free breakfast, room upgrades, and amenities, such as a $100 food and beverage credit.

3. Trusted advice: Time is money and your vacation time is an extremely important asset.  Through the Virtuoso network, I have access to a wealth of information.  I attend events, such as Travel Week, in which I have 400, that is right, 400, 4 minute meetings with suppliers.  I meet property owners, managers, sales directors, and other important supplier contacts.  In addition, I am well traveled through my personal adventures and site inspections, where I go tour a property and meet with the right contacts to further assist clients. Put all this together and I have the knowledge to know which property or trip is right for you.

4. Special occasions: I love this part of my job.  Being in Virtuoso, every traveler gets the VIP treatment.  This treatment really shines on those extra special occasions, like birthdays and anniversaries.  For example, I have a client staying at a property in New York City and this trip is a surprise birthday present for the spouse. Not only have I secured them a double upgrade, but waiting for them in their room will be the favorite cake and drink of the birthday guest.  I wish I could be in the room to see their surprise!

5. A friend when in need: As much as we want every trip to go perfectly, unfortunately, sometimes it doesn’t.  As a client, you get the peace of mind knowing not only am I your advisor, I am your advocate.  My clients can call me and have another person working hard on their behalf to work through whatever has happened on the trip.

Although the list could go on and on, those are the highlights!
