With a quick, two night stay in Hong Kong, I wanted to balance my time between doing some sight seeing and visiting a few properties. There are 8 different properties, all in the Virtuoso network, and I visited three of them. The next up on my tour is the lovely Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong. I didn’t really plan it this way but I ended up seeing three Four Seasons properties on this trip! This isn’t a bad thing, I really do like the chain quite a bit as they are very consistent.
The Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong has a fantastic location in the financial district. This is the opposite side of the harbor from the Hotel Review: Intercontinental Hong Kong | Travel by Katie. The hotel is connected to the International Finance Center where you can shop and eat until your heart is content. Additionally, the property is a very quick walk from the Star Ferry, direct linkage to the Hong Kong station (where you can hop on the Airport Express) and railway access to major districts. It really is a remarkable location.
The property has 399 rooms including 54 suites and was built new in 2005. The rooms all measure 484 square feet and the suites range from 732-3,430 square feet. Guests can chose between a contemporary Chinese decor or a more modern, Western-style design. There are smoking floors available. This hotel does have a Club Lounge with the expected lounge options of breakfast, high tea, cocktails, pressing services, an outside patio, etc. The views from the Club Lounge are fantastic – a perfect place to retreat to for some nibbles or getting work done.
I was able to tour a Deluxe Harbor View Room. The rooms all feature either a king or two double beds, iPod docking station, LED lighting, L’Occitane amenities, double vanity, make up mirror, and marble throughout. The Harbor View rooms have views across Victoria Harbor and the Kowloon side.
The rooms are all quite nice and fresh. For me, the overall feel of the property was very quiet, calm, and peaceful which is needed when stepping inside and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Huge windows are found throughout the property, letting in copious amounts of natural light. The Four Seasons rarely disappoints. I would have loved to have peaked into a suite, but unfortunately for me (but fortunate for them!) they were occupied. I had plenty of other places on the property to tour though. Next up, my favorite feature of Four Seasons – the spa!
The Spa is located on the 6th and 7th floors, occupying 22,000 square feet of space. This area is considered an urban oasis with traditional and innovative treatments offered. Men and women each have their own area with a vitality pool, sauna, and steam room (with aromatherapy) in addition to the treatment rooms.
The pool is on the 6th floor and has three separate options – an infinity pool for relaxing, a lap pool, and a plunge pool. Located on the terrace is also a whirlpool.
I did not visit the gym as guests were present, but they do have a great space with lots of equipment and weights.
For dining, the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong has 5 options. Caprice and Caprice Bar are quite popular as Caprice is a Michelin 2 star and Forbes 5 star. It hosts one of the largest cheese cellars in Asia and private dining can be set up within the cellar for an exclusive dining experience. Caprice is open for lunch and dinner and Caprice Bar is only open in the evenings.
The other options include Lung King Heen, the first Chinese Michelin 3 star in the world; The Lounge; Blue Bar; and the Pool Terrace. A fun little fact about Lung King Heen – the chef was never professionally trained – he prepares his creations from recipes his mother used! I had the lunch buffet at Blue Bar when I visited.
I really enjoyed my visit to the Four Seasons Hong Kong. They are a great property in a fantastic location.
As this is a Virtuoso property, I am proud to offer the following amenities: Upgrade upon arrival, subject to availability; daily full breakfast, for up to two in room guests; and $100 Food and Beverage credit.
